Are any of you guys into other "one hit wonders"? First of all, I'd like to make it clear that I absolutely hate the term "one hit wonder". Bands are made up of more than hits, and a lot of the most influential groups of all time don't even have any top 40 hits at all.
So anyways, my favorite band of all time is Chumbawamba. I appreciate the fact that they have the ability to change their sound with nearly every single album they make, and even after being around for almost thirty years they still don't sound tired or boring yet. I suggest that some of you guys look into them, you might be surprised to find a song that isn't "Tubthumping" that you might like :D

I hate the expression too. Charting isn't everything. The Grateful Dead had only one chart hit, I dare anyone to say they're a One Hit Wonder.

You'd recognize "Tubthumping" in an instant if you heard it. Its the song that goes "I get knocked down, but I get up again. You're never gonna keep me down."
Before that though they were actually an anarchist punk rock band, and more recently they've gotten into world music and folk. I love them, none of their stuff sounds the same.

Chumbawamba's great... my dad's got a couple of their CDs but I'm always "borrowing" them.

The Bloodhound Gang ;)

I don't really consider the Bloodhound Gang a one-hit wonder; they were famous for two songs- "Fire Water Burn" and "The Bad Touch". I forgot another one of my favorite one-hit wonders though; Natural Selection- they had this really great R&B hit in 1991 called "Do Anything".

White Town has an "interesting" sound since we're talking about One-Hit Wonders. Mid-1990's group. Song: "Your Woman"

I love that song.

I like that song too...problem is, I don't get it. :? Maybe it's a blonde thing, but I doubt it. The song just doesn't make sense to me...it's a guy singing "I could never be your woman." HUH? I guess he could though if he became a transvestite! LMAO
