Carly Hennessy comeback?

I hope she does, but I think certain factions will stop her. I think you're right. A lot can happen over the next few months. For openers if it gets out that she already had a major opportunity before and that won't fare well with people who aren't familiar with the story. Second, this year I think that the public will want a male winner. There always seems with AI for people to have this idea that they have to remake Kelly every year and it doesn't work. Simon I'm sure is familiar with her story. I don't think AI will make much of it but the tabloid shows will. If she gets down to the final 4 or so and the public hasn't been made aware of her story by then, number 1 I'll be surprised and number 2 it will be BIG news. In the meantime Simon will try to bring her down, which is his job as the judge to influence the vote. He is partial to the record companies and he likely already sees the business end of this. In his mind Carly already lost one record company money. He also doesn't seem to like her performing already hence his comments which I guess were meant to say, "You don't have anything new to offer since last time" and I don't think he feels she's gotten any better. He's also probably mad that they talked her on to the show. I'm sure someone promised her a trip into the finals(like a few others are) and he hates when others assert their autonomy. I'll restate what I said from the beginning, someone should've just offered her another record deal if they felt she was good enough to get on. My reason for saying this is that if she gets anywhere near the end of the show and that story comes out the public will lose faith in this show, say its fixed and that professionals are being used. I keep comparing this to the Olympics but in the US, the one thing that killed the ratings and desire for people to see the games is when they let professionals play many of the sports. When it was an amateur competition people liked it much more. Most people are under the impression AI is an amateur show and if word gets out that a singer once already had a sizable record deal...hmmm....well lets just say people aren't gonna be happy. Just a prediction... I still want Carly to win. If this erupts into the controversy I think it will I can't tell if that will help or hurt her. She will get another record deal out of this, win or lose. But if the public is mad about this, I don't know if anyone will buy the record.

woah! awesome, i'll be rooting for her. Does anyone have a link to her 1st audition from 2005? i bet if she won, whoever owned the rights to Ultimate high would re-release the album to try to make some money off it. Maybe the $2.2 million spent on Ultimate high wont be in vain :lol:

If it all works out that way it would wind up a real diamond in the rough. Considering the crap that is coming thru the auditions, I can't see why she wouldn't win. Still that little matter of her having a deal once before I think is going to be a problem.

This ought to be interesting! They run hot and cold on her but hopefully she'll have more good moments than bad. She needs good songs now! Felt bad for Josiah...I'll bet someone takes a chance on him. He was lousy in that last performance and really got cocky with it. But the truth his for a busker he's got lots of talent...maybe not as a performer but as a songwriter. Can one see a lot of young Gregg in him musically? (not in stature with the weight, lack of height and over emotional) He even pissed a lot of people off but he knows what he likes and what he wants to hear. When he didn't like what he heard from the band in rehearsals he just sent them away. I think I give him credit for screwing that up before he wasted his time with what he didn't think was right.

:oops: happy 2008 to all.... as many know i have been an NR fan and have been followers since the beginning... love finding greggs and danielles stuff... I loved carlys album because of the NR connection. you can find carlys auditions and clips on youtube. Note: no one has the Beautiful You video.... VH1 used to have it but no longer. carly simply shouldnt be on AI.... she had a major album release on MCA. I wish simon just gave her a contract and made a reality show around her showing a girl who was screwed by the record industry making a comeback... i cant find of any instance when a person who had a major label release was on a show like AI.... I love carly then, love carly now.... but she shouldnt be competing...
