Carly Hennessy
Apparently, she played live as recently as February of this year... if not more recently: http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=441563&blogID=88785733 Here is an interesting review of her CD done just this year by a blogger: http://daphaneasf.multiply.com/reviews/item/3

Maybe she has a happy ending in her future.

DaniBriseFAN- 12-08-2006

I certainly hope so. Poor thing has a beautiful voice and is only 23 years old. She should be huge, but things were unfortunately handled all wrong.

CousinDave- 12-09-2006

Its really sad. No one has ever cited any fault on her part at all. Its not like there was anything she could've done differently or better. She just followed their lead.

I don't like Sony Records anyway, they never promote their CDs like they should ;). As for her CD it is very good. There are ever some sounds that are exactly like Roxette songs! :o Is it plagerism if they use the same cords? ;).

Nothing worse that potential wasted because of companies

There are ever some sounds that are exactly like Roxette songs! :o Is it plagerism if they use the same cords? ;). Its a tough call, but if its obvious and the songwriter and/or performer is aware of it, then yes they can file a lawsuit stating they are the actual writer of all or part of the song, the offending artist can be responsible for back and future royalties. In the case of similar chords the artist who states they are being plagarized will likely have to prove the similarities. Most of these cases are settled. There are a few obvious ones that I don't know how they escape the writer's notice. The most recent notable to me was the song "Sunday Morning" by Maroon 5 the chorus is the vocal melody to Loggins and Messina's "My Music" and yet they are not credited as writers of the song. Maybe you can rip off vocal melody!

You guys are going to hate me, but I've never even heard her. I've heard that she's good and I've heard about her, but never her music. One of these days, I'll break out of my bubble to listen to something new! LOL

DaniBriseFAN- 03-09-2007

Girl, you need to give her a listen. The whole album was written by Gregg & Danielle and Danielle does some background vocals... actually, you can hear Gregg talking during the crowd noise intro for Beautiful You. She has a very powerful and beautiful voice.

Elizabeth- 03-09-2007

I checked out her MySpace... ...she has a very "interesting" husband! I promise, one of these days I'll give her a listen! I'm just so stuck in the 90's still!

I will give you an example, in one of the songs it has "Love" spoken in the back round, it sounds exactly like a Roxette songs that has "love" in the background,

You can buy the CD for less than 5 dollars with shipping! That is what I did ;). I love New Radicals a lot. Anyway, I have over 200 CDs so if you want to borrow some music just ask. Pablo

Nothing worse that potential wasted because of companies They blew $2 mil on her so I think they didn't completely lose faith in her. :) Carly also played at ShamRock 2007 in San Diego on St. Patrick's Day. She must be near or in San Diego. I wonder if she's singing new material.

DaniBriseFAN- 03-25-2007

Yep, if you check her myspace account you can see that she does indeed live in or around SD.
