Dan Fogelberg
Very sad news about his passing away at the too young age of 56. I knew Dan had been ill and I knew it had reached the somewhat serious point. As we listened to his "Same Old Lang Syne" over and over this holiday season, I admit that I thought each time about how sick was. Guys, take that prostate cancer seriously! One easy blood test once a year after you turn 35 can save your life.

That is indeed sad news... and bitterly ironic that he should pass during the holiday season, since 'Same Old Lang Syne' was such a huge hit for him. I still remember my girlfriend in 11th grade wanting to listen to that song over and over again, and thinking "Wow! A dear coworker of mine also passed away this weekend at the tender young age of 53, of ovarian cancer. Cherish each day.

I know three guys that died of prostrate cancer, one just the other week and one a good family friend. Lost my dear aunt to cancer a year or two back, still feel like my guts have been ripped out, miss here like hell. Even when it's over it's like it's still killing those left behind.

And it doesn't have to be that way. If detected early enough most cancers these days are treatable. In the case of prostate cancer there are often no signs of it and the person often doesn't feel sick. So the only way for most men is to get the annual exam...the blood test and the *squirms* DRE exam if needed. It helps to have a good doctor too. I think mine wants me dead. He has a bit of a crush on my wife it seems and so he has an agenda. The rare occasion I go to him for an issue he tells me there's nothing wrong with me and throws me out of the office. I dunno maybe its my paranoia! :lol:

My doctor is the same, only his crush is with his bank manager. :lol:
