Thank you so much newradmad!!! I just ordered my copy! Maybe this is a prelude to a 3rd Danielle Brisebois Record!

DaniBriseFAN- 11-03-2006

Ordered my copy yesterday. I hope she is reaping some benefit from this.

newradmad- 11-05-2006

i dont have a scanner but i could take a picture with my digital camera that always seemed to work :P

Fritz- 11-06-2006

I ordered a copy last week, too, and can scan it when it arrives.

DaniBriseFAN- 11-14-2006

I finally got mine today. It's still sealed. I think I'll order another copy just so I can play it, although I already have all the tracks that are on it. I scanned it in and sent it as a Comment to Danielle on MySpace. She Messaged me and said this: Subject: wow Body: Hi there, I can't believe there really is a cd! We knew nothing about it. Crazy. I have my managers trying to get a copy now! Hope it is good. I was unaware of it. Thanks Danielle I am still in awe of her being such a human being. I'm also pissed that neither she nor her management knew anything about the CD, and it was put out by Sony/BMG. What the hell???

I guess her royalties are out of the question for some reason huh? You know for as much as we view performers as spoiled brats and what not, we forget sometimes they're puppets of these record company suits who just care about cashing in on them.

Man, and there I was thinking artists being ripped off was a thing of the past. Sony suck in so many ways. :x

Fritz- 11-18-2006

The CD was produced through Sony BMG's Custom Marketing Group... which I had never heard of before but it sounds kind of interesting. And I guess this also explains why only Arrive All Over You songs are on it (Arrive All Over You was released by Epic, so the songs are still part of the Sony catalogue, while Portable Life was on RCA) :ninja:

And I guess this also explains why only Arrive All Over You songs are on it (Arrive All Over You was released by Epic, so the songs are still part of the Sony catalogue, while Portable Life was on RCA) :ninja: It sounds like something they invented a few hours ago to release discs there might be a cult following for. The record industry is getting so scared no one wants to buy cd's anymore that they will try anything now. The record companies have to diversify somehow, they're getting so scared no one wants to buy their cd's anymore with so many better ways to get music. Musicians are gaining control and becoming more self contained. They can cut their own songs and post them to a website and their fans can download them for a much cheaper price. This system is excellent for bands who have followings already and just need to get the word out they have new music and the fans can go from there. They can charge $7-9 for the whole download, even give people printable lyrics and cover art. If a band can get maybe 100,000 downloads at $9 each. Brings in $900,000 with no holding to a record company. Then use that to promote them even more and if the demand is good, they can tour. Record companies invent divisions to bring back certain artist, capitolize on other artists they once had under contract and didn't succeed for them but maybe now are doing something good (Dani falls into this category). Also some record companies buy rights from other companies and release them under sub divisions and hope for the best.
