Has started work on her 4th album and is currently in the studio writing songs with "some familiar faces." The new CD is due out Spring 2007. Hopefully one of the "familiar faces" will be Gregg.

I think she is one of those artists who is a perfect Gregg client. Not real music savvy, in need of good songs and could use a someone to "run the show" for her.

I think On The Horizon was one of Gregg's better client tracks, shame she didn't do more. Let's hope she will now though, as her last CD was post her being dumped by her record label and honestly wasn't that good.

on the horizon turned out to be one of my favorite songs in a long time. the rest of the world didnt feel the same way though. i genuinely loved it, the only way i ever would have heard it was from fritzes gregg song compilation he did a year ago.

I'm currently compiling a list of client videos to add to our MySpace and that's top of the list. 8smile

You may have noticed that we're not into Mel C so much as into one of her writer producers (Gregg Alexander) and yes I have heard the whole of it several times over. I just much prefer Northern Star, is that such a crime to actually be more a fan of her first album? 8unsure

I think there's very little chance she'll work with Gregg again. Melanie hasn't exactly been quiet about her distaste for 'On The Horizon'. The last I heard she said it was a good pop song but didn't suit her. :shock: It's one of my favourite Gregg-for-other-artists tunes too, right up there with Sophie's ones. x Which also leads me to wonder how much say she had in the overall outcome at all. If she had to include something she wasn''t satisfied with then that tells me that others were leading her around by the nose or they were up against a deadline and didn't have time for other arrangements. I still think Gregg is a good fit for her musically.

I agree I think it suited her perfectly and for me it's her best song by far.

i love on the horizon, regardless if it was a gregg song or not. there are some songs of his that hes written for other artists that i dont like as much as the others. generally its a safe bet if gregg wrote it ill end up liking it, but not always, sometimes i dont like the singers.

I still think Gregg is a good fit for her musically. It was a record company thing. They thought it was a good song and could be a hit, but Mel was never too taken with it. It wasn't her choice as a single. Have you guys heard the promo version? It's different to the mix that was featured on the album in the end. The horns aren't there yet and as such it's a little less insistent. x

Yep. It's the original version before Virgin ordered a remix to make it more radio-friendly. I had it on my old PC but don't have it at my disposal right now. I'll track it down again and post! x
