New Radicals in the UK
It seems to me that the new radicals are a lot more popular in Great Britain. I studied in the UK in 2000 and i heard ygwyg a bunch of times in buses, on the radio in shops, etc. for anyone interested here's the rolling stone article about when gregg cancelled a UK tour: http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/thenewradicals/articles/story/5928596/new_radicals_flirt_with_the_abyss?action=rate#rate They're popular in south america, I heard ygwyg twice in two different places the day i arrived.

thanks just read the article. Talented people temperamental attitudes. Maybe by now record company's have realized they don't do all the telling anymore. Talk about you dying industry. Like the use of the Petrarch name. i am assuming that the name with the date is" the Petrarch". Who climbed Mount Von tu for the enjoynment of just climbing the mountain. Great poet. Like him you seem to travel for sheer joy of it. are you still traveling? marty

hey thanks for replying. The original Petrarch was in the 13th century. I liked him and my name is Patrick, so it kinda goes together. Yes i do like travelling. I'm planning on moving to Taiwan next year. I'm glad this forum is here!

It could just be coincidence. I have a radio station in my tri-state area that plays You Get What You Give practically every day. It's usually very early in the morning, so I miss it a lot of times, but they play it on a pretty set rate. I've also heard it play at a number of restaurants in my area, and after having asked a couple times where they got their music, they all say the chain has it's own cd/ipod they use.

Patrick 13 century yes i stand corrected. Should have looked up the date. Travel its a better education of life than any thing you can read in class. There big in Japan . Often pondered where Gregg was going with that line. Kastner can tell us how big they are in China it still amazes one Hillbilly Tennessee how global a group we are Boneho. fortunately we have copyright protections in US that prevents playing music for the public without being licensed. I don't know if its just a blanket thing yes you play what you want, But then how do you know witch Artist to pay. I suspect its a service like DMX. I have a home subscription DMX that is commercial free and 130 channels of all types music. Believe it one channel called Hebrew Hits. All Hebrew all day. I have noticed the rotation of music is coordinated for different times of day. early energy music. sleepy slow in the evenings. marty marty

It's true it was pretty much everywhere here in the UK 99/00, tv show themes, pop shows, the charts, clubs and radio. I sure it was the same pretty much everywhere, along with David Gray's Babylon they were pretty much the tunes of the summer. I know it gets used a lot on RAI 1 in Italy almost daily, along with a series of Gregg's other songs. Someone there in their sound department must love him.
