does anybody know how copies of PL was ever released? its as if new ones keep getting cranked out and land on ebay. there couldnt be that many in existence if the album was never released. and whats with the cardboard packaging anyway? if theyre all prototype copies why make them out of cardboard? who was supposed to be getting these things? i assume all of us regulars have a copy of PL, i got mine in 99-00 on ebay before they started jacking the prices up.

I haven't a copy either. Fritz is right, the press, media and industry usually get these copies. Why the big availability, simple, there are set minimum batches, basically box loads. They have known lists ready for mailshots of the people and companies they're meant to go to and extras for new contacts. Recently a second type appeared, an Advance copy. This doesn't carry the artwork, this was probably for internal use and even A celeb media contacts. Further back still would be Pre-Master copies for internal use only.

News to me, what's fine one day is suddenly not the next, anyways like anything counts what you download with it to make it so. If you download legal files you're fine. "portable life" was never really released,right? WHY?? and there's no way to get a copy cheaper than 300$? i have all songs (and some unreleased ones from that session maybe),but i'd like to have the cd.. daniel.

300 bucks? that's insane! it wasnt released because the world wasn't prepared for such a great cd at that time :idea: :some:
