Ronan's Rollercoaster
Anybody still got the link to that interview where Ronan said that \"Rollercoaster\" was originally supposed to be a New Radicals track?

CrypticMouse- 06-30-2006

That interview was on the Life Is A Rollercoaster single which I have.....somewhere.....

Here you go: From LIAR Interview CDRom. Question 10: 'Tell Us About This Single' One of the possible singles also is a track I wrote out in America besides the two I've done here in the UK. It's a track called Life Is A Rollercoaster which I did with Rick Knowles. It's kinda a groovy thing about it because it was the band called The New Radicals and Gregg Alexander wrote the song and it was gonna be their single and as everybody knows they broke up so they're no longer together so they gave the song to me. So erm I loved it, I heard it, it was fantastic. It's a great up tempo vibe song and it's..it's just different. It's not what people are expecting of Ronan Keating but it's still pop music, it's still great, great pop music.......

Like the way he claims to have written it, pity the BMI credits don't actually say that Ronan. What a total gobshite. 8roll

I hate when performers take credit for things that they didn't do.

Titan- 06-30-2006

Kind of silly really, because he gave the game directly away, when in the very next line he said that the band The New Radicals and Gregg Alexander wrote it. Goes to show he doesn't know who the fuck wrote it anyway, let alone what comes out of his own lying mouth. It's sad really and worse still the world's full of them. 8sad

CousinDave- 06-30-2006

Yeah, some are just more public than others

DaniBriseFAN- 07-03-2006

I hate when performers take credit for things that they didn't do. So do I!!! You know what, I bet that song would have been phenomenal had it been done by the New Radicals. Can you guys imagine???

Titan- 07-03-2006

Totally. Gregg and hat flying around on wires, now that would have been cool. 8ga

CrypticMouse- 07-04-2006

8omg Wow, that's the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my head! 8wub I want Gregg to fly around on wires

Talking of Ronan Keating, anyone heared his version of the Goo Goo Dolls classic 'Iris'? I've heard it once and never want to hear it again!

Titan- 07-07-2006

Sadly yes.

CrypticMouse- 07-07-2006

never 8grin 8lol

DaniBriseFAN- 07-07-2006

I have to agree with Liz here! I think hearing Ronan cover the Goo Goo Dolls would be like listening to the Goo Goo Dolls cover someone like Supertramp. Oh wait... they did that...

Talking of Ronan Keating, anyone heared his version of the Goo Goo Dolls classic 'Iris'? I've heard it once and never want to hear it again! Well, it's not like he butchered it up or something... It sounds like he tried to exactly recreate the original, which pretty much always makes for a boring cover version.
