Gregg and Rick Nowels did some work on Taylor Dayne's new album, Satisfied, which will be released February 5th! After having a look at the track list, one track is "My Heart Can't Change", which I think some of you are already familar with ;) I'm not sure though if there are any more Gregg-written songs on there other than that.

Excellent news. 8) http://www.taylordayne.com/home.php It plays her single Beautiful (not by Gregg). From what I gather, 4 tracks are covers and only 4 are co-written, with Beautiful already gone that makes Gregg's chances down to 3, one of which we already know for sure. So 2 tracks left and my current guess is that Gregg's only got the one track barring any B-sides. Shame really. One is better than none. :?

I wondered if that track would end up on someone's album one day. It would be nice if there was more, but one is definitely better than zero. Taylor Dane has a nice voice. I've been a fan since the 80's. As a matter of fact, my oldest daughter (who is now 20 and engaged -e egads!) used to sing "I'll Be Your Shelter" at the top of her lungs from her carseat when she was quite small, and my ringtone for her in my phone is this part of the song: Na na na na na na Na na na na na na Na na na na na na Na na na Na na na I'm sensing a running theme....

Wow Randy, you're old too. I guess we both have memories like that. I can recall my almost 26 yr old daughter (then about 2 or 3) bouncing up and down and singing a cute new song Cindy Lauper's "Girls Just Want To Have Fun". Where does the time go? *sigh*

IDK man time evaporates Yep, I think that video with them all jumping around is what got her going. She loved her, wanted to dress like her too. Emmy also replaced the line "they just wanna..they just wanna" With "I can't wanna..I can't wanna." A common line of hers then. What fun times and we don't really appreciate them until now do we Randy.

The album was released yesterday. Clips of the song can be heard on iTunes and here at Amazon.

I adore that song. Just love it. Would have been even better if Gregg's name were on the CD cover. :(

Taylor Dayne just mentioned the song (and Gregg) in this interview. Then we launch into—and it was my choice to put it third—this was Gregg Alexander from the Radicals and of course Rick Knowles and it’s not the first song they played for me it’s not the first song we talked about, but I just kept going there: "My Heart Can’t Change". It was probably more, let’s say R&B, it’s just more soulful and it just felt right.

How were you guys familiar with this song before this recording?

It was one of two songs written with Texas, but only the other song ("Inner Smile") was released.
