Something tells me that's not Gregg and Danielle. One day someone will notify them there was already a group by that name. Not that it will matter mind you!

Email MCA or whoever currently owns the rights and I'm sure there'll soon be a hasty name change.

I think the naming rights are Gregg's. In the US he'd have to enforce it. New laws have been in enacted in the US that prohibit more than one musical group performing under the same name. I guess we have nothing else to worry about here... Anyway, the idea is to protect the authenticity of acts and stop people like a third cousin of a band member from going out and performing under the same name and duping people into thinking its the original. For example, there are currently over 100 different acts in the US performing using the name, "The Platters." Yet the Platters only had 5 members. Even if they each went out seperately with their own group as the Platters and used the name only 5 people can legitimately use the name. That doesn't mean that everyone who was ever in one of those groups can use the name. Currently only one person can form a group and be allowed to tour as the Platters. Anyway, its Gregg's group, as long as he copyrighted the name, which no doubt was done with the help of MCA, my guess is only he can stop it.

are these "new radicals" guys famous anyway? they have a myspace music page, but it's like... anyone can have one nowadays. *shrugs*

May be worth telling Danielle about it as she has an interest in the band and may directly inform Gregg through her own legal contacts. Talking of recent problems with bands using the same names, I can't understand the sudden rise in copy cat names. What's going on, no one is doing any bloody homework? I don't know why but it does piss me off when new crap acts take on famous names or mimic them. Recently Twisted Sister had to fight off a shit act called Twisted Sisters. The act's maker and owner is such a fucking tasteless hypocrite arsehole and bitched about having to change it, claiming that the name was different enough. Considering he's a celeb hounding pap, he should really shut the fuck up and take it. Also Black Sabbath were made to sign a shit contract to have Ozzy do just a few gigs, Sharon had worded it so that now only line ups featuring Ozzy could only use the name. Poor old Tony who's band it was and has been still running it since Ozzy first left all these years, has to find a new name. What a crock of shit, seriously. Sharon is top of my shit list of greedy pathetic people. I think the world is getting more and more moronic by the year. I'd be more than happy to see these name thieves in court. Sorry for the rant, but shit like this really gets my goat.
